The Winona robotics team is an after-school activity with members from Winona area schools. The team offers a warm and welcoming environment for students who are interested in designing robots or who simply want to be a part of a team. We meet from 4-6 PM on school days. The team members learn or improve their skills ranging from programming to metalworking.
History
The Winona Robotics team started in 2009. The first couple of years the team received funding from the MN FIRST group through JCPenny & Boston Scientific. In 2009 the team participated in the Minnesota 1000 lakes regionals in Minneapolis, MN. The team also attended the 1000 lakes regionals in 2012. The team ended with a team ranking of 27. In the 2010 season the team headed to Milwaukee, WI for the Wisconsin Regional. In the 2011, 2013, 2014, 2015, and 2016 seasons the team went to Minneapolis for the North Star Regionals. Since 2017 the Winona Robotics team has been attending the Seven Rivers Regionals in La Crosse, Wi.
